We need an EU budget that protects national sovereignty

Strasbourg 23/10/2024 - The Patriots for Europe Group wants an EU budget for 2025 that serves peace, helps to stop illegal migration, serves the interests of European people, families and nations and promotes sovereignty.

A radical change was proposed by the Patriots to the Commission's completely flawed budget proposal. Instead of further encouraging illegal migration, we need a budget that supports border protection and defends Europe and Europeans. That is why we proposed to increase EU spending on border protection with 1 billion euros and support Member States in building and maintaining border fences.

EU propaganda that undermines national sovereignty, as well as institutionalised political blackmail, rule of law 'jihad' and EU funding of gender ideology and woke madness, must be stopped.

We expect the new European Commission to review the application of rule of law conditionality and to stop the politically selected ideological blackmail of Member States. Our group demands that the regional development funds legally granted to Hungary but withheld as a result of political blackmail be paid out immediately. The funds legally granted to Hungary must be protected and cannot be spent for other purposes or in other countries.

Our agricultural proposals were supported by the majority of the EP, these increase the amounts earmarked for young farmers, and the promotion of EU agricultural products.
