Patriots Exposition Targeted by Censorship and Political Coercion
Brussels, 07/09/2026 - In a striking move of censorship and unforeseen political coercion, the European Parliament has banned a political exhibition in Parliament from taking place. The exhibition, focussing on the deteriorating social and economic atmosphere in South-Africa and the role of European support and funding to the ANC-regime, was deemed political unfeasible by the bureau of the Quaestors of the Parliament, prohibiting it mere days before it was due to take place. As a reason for the ban, the parliamentary agencies cite a possible influence on the South-African local elections, which are still two months away.
The final block of the exposition, unmasking an ever growing systemic problem in the de facto one party state combined with a vengeful policy towards the white population and a far-reaching tolerance towards racially motivated crimes, followed after pressure from the South African Permanent Representation and Embassy, tipped-off by the chair of the Delegation for Relations with South-Africa. Bowing to political pressure, a majority of centrist representatives voted to repeal the planned exhibition. MEP Tom Vandendriessche (Vlaams Belang, Patriots for Europe), reacts astonished to the verdict of the bureau: “This decision illustrates the dangerous ways the left and centrist parties in this house operate when faced with opposition. With their numbers plummeting in the polls, the system tries to protect itself by elimination any critique of itself and its policies. Empty excuses such as impacting local elections in a third state on the other side of the planet are laughable arguments, knowing that those same parties are known to use every opportunity to strike political opponents in- and outside the European Union.”
The ruling is the latest in a long line of tactical moves in an effort to hinder efficient working of the Patriots for Europe faction, the third largest in Parliament. The move is illustrative of a selective view on democracy on the left. A democratic house cannot tolerate political censorship.
